The silk poppies were hand wrapped, in our UK lighting manufacturing facility in Derbyshire, before delicately being suspended from the mirror-polished ceiling plate.

Inspired by the poppy image created by Leach Rhodes Walker Architects, Northern Lights developed technical drawings which illustrated the 3D organic shapes and helped with the complex layout of the poppies. It was important that this retail lighting made a lasting impact in the vast space it would occupy so the scale and proportion had to be resolved.
The pendant pays a lasting tribute to the brave servicemen and women and is now a permanent feature in the Red Mall of the shopping centre.
Commenting on the project, the Project Leader Rebecca Kenny from Leach Rhodes Walker Architects said: "Northern Lights have reliably delivered a pendant that not only exceeded the original brief but creates a poignant reminder of our past."
